I'M HAVING A PARTY!

Hey Hey Hey !
Save the date!
I am hosting a open house party on Sat. Aug. 1st. between 1:00 and 3:00. It is for this great little company from Farmington, Utah called Peanut Posh. They make/carry a few different things, but I am focusing on their Bottlecap Bows. I have attached a picture of one of the bows on my darling niece. (isn't she the cutest) They are an interchangeable bow/flowers that you can make in just minutes to match every and any outfit your little gal may have. They can be worn from 0 to 100, clipped on a headband or just in your hair. If you dress your girls in Gymboree outfits then you are in luck because Peanut Posh has Bottlecaps to match their entire current line, or you can choose from an assortment of rhinestone Bottlecaps. Their clips are covered in ribbons and come in a variety of colors too. They have 20 colors of flower petals to choose from too. Peanut Posh has a great kit, Big Kahuna Kit, that includes 2 clips, a clear rhinestone bottlecap, 2 of all 20 large petals and 2 of all 20 small petals. That's 80 petals.....imagine the possibilities!! This kit is only $35!!! These are the cutest things. I would love for you to come, please RSVP if you can. The consultant is coming from Utah, so I'd like to give her an idea of what to expect. Click on the link above to see their darling website and more bows along with the other products they carry. The House Party in Idaho is me so come join in the fun. Hope to see you. Give me a jingle if you have any questions.
If you would like to make an order but can't come to the party let me know ahead of time what you would like and I will at it to the party order for you.
If you have boys definitely check out their website. They have the cutest ties for you little gentleman called Bruiser Ties.

IHC Charity Care Program

This post is one to "pay it forward" in a way. I wanted to share with those of you who might need it and would qualify for it, the option of the Charity Care Program that IHC hospitals have.
For those of you who know our family you know that we don't have insurance and that we were denied for Medicaid three times in the process of having our last baby. I have a great friend in Utah, who shared with me the knowledge of this program and said to ask about it at our hospital here. I did and we have been blessed to qualify for this program and between all of the bills so far, we are still waiting for the one for the anesthesia, there has been over $11,000.00 written off of our bills. Ya I know that's a ton. We are so grateful!
I'm not sure if the hospital actually calls their program Charity Care, but they knew what I was talking about, basically it's just financial assistance through the hospital. There are a few catches though and one of them is that you have to have been denied for Medicaid within 6 months of you date of service. I'm not sure if you are able to have other insurance and still qualify, that wasn't a problem for us since we are uninsured. You have to apply for it through the hospital after you have received your service so they have a bill to work from. As far as I understand, this program is available because of donations. All they ask in return is that when you are in a better financial situation if you would consider making a donation back to the hospital towards this program. It's a wonderful thing, and when we are able to we will make a donation back to say thank you.
I just wanted to let those of you who are in a similar situation as we were--not insured because it's not offered through your work and it's so stinkin' expensive to carry on your own, you just barely make too much to qualify for Medicaid, and are all around good, hard working people who contribute to our society and "take care of others" by paying your taxes--that there is another option out there if you have need of medical service. I hope this post was helpful or at least informative.

Abrey Adams Photography

So, I just was thinking as I was looking my girlfriend's myspace page that I should do a little PR work for her. Her name is Abrey Watterson, but she uses her maiden name for her photography business-Abrey Adams Photography. She is local here to Burley, and so far just works out of her house, but she does amazing work. She is possibly in the process of getting a little studio set up in town, more to come on that. She does indoor and outdoor shots, and is great with both. She also is great with Photoshop, so if you need some retouching done or some special effects on your pics, she's your gal. She has done a maternity/family shoot for me and just recently we did newborn pics of our new little baby. I tried to put some of the pics here on the blog, but no success, so just click on the links above to go to her myspace page albums. If you would like to make an appt. with her please contact her at: abrey_adams_photography@yahoo.com (I don't know if this link will work, you may just have to copy and paste)

1 week old

Yesterday knocked off the 1 week mark for our little leprechaun, Miss Davnie. She had a doc. visit yesterday and he said that she looks great. He was a little concerned about her weight, but figured my milk just hasn't come all the way in yet. I think it's b/c she sleeps more than her sister did and so I have to wake her up to feed her most of the time, and if I'm not watching the clock then we go too long between feedings. So we are working on a little team effort, she and I. She is a beautiful little baby if I do say so myself. She makes the cutest little sleep sounds, little grunts and groans, coos and sighs. I wish I could bottle that and save it for later when I miss those baby moments. I am so thankful that the Lord has chosen to send this sweet little spirit to be part of our family. I love her so much already. We love her so much already.

I also just wanted to say a big THANK YOU!! to all of you who have given us a gift, visited us at the hospital, or at home, and who have helped us out in one way or another. Thank you to the amazing sisters in our ward who have brought us dinners. A big THANK YOU to my mom and dad for taking care of Savannah for the whole week last week. She slept at their house from Mon. night to Fri. night. We didn't plan on her staying that long but she has had a cold since the Sat. before Davnie was born, so we were a little nervous to have her at the house too much. The hospital wouldn't even let her in to see her new sister and mommy. (that was so hard on the poor girl, but she was a trooper) That's why you'll see a mask on her in some of the pics.....she has learned that before she comes near the baby she has to put on her mask and wash her hands. She is being very patient, but I know it's getting to her that she can love on her "sissy" the way she wants to until her cold is gone. Thanks to my sister for running me around and taking Savannah to dance till I can do it.
We Love You Grandma, Grandpa and Jackie!

We had a special visitor yesterday too. Grammy Jan drove up from Layton for a quick visit--and I mean quick, she could only stay for 3 or 4 hrs. She brought the cutest outfit for Davnie and she found a matching shirt for Savannah too. She held the baby and played with Savannah, which was just what she needed. She hasn't seen our house yet either so she got the grand tour from Jon before he had to go back to work from lunch. It was a quick visit but well worth it.
We Love You Grammy Jan!

more pics to come, it's late and the leprechaun is hungry. :)

Extraction acheived!!!

So it has only been an Hour since Davnie was extracted from Brookes Wide open uterus. The screaming has commenced and I am fighting off all of the other baby boys knocking on the door for a nursery date. As she popped out she looked at me and gave me a look of put me back, but we are so glad that she is here and looking healthy and alive, all parts came with and no assembly was required. They had to use a shoe horn to get here out, I guess that 7 lbs and 8 Oz filled up Brooke quite well. Let you know more shortly.

7...6...5...4...

The count down has definitely begun!! It's almost time to meet our St. Patrick's Day Baby! I'm SSOOOO excited!! We are SSOOOO excited!! From today we are exactly 1 week away from Baby Day! Considering the hour I'm writing this we are almost only 6 days away. I think I'm just about as ready as I can be. Baby clothes and blankets are washed, they just need to be put away. Furniture is rearranged in Savannah's room to make room for little sister. Car seat, swing, stroller are brought in from the storage unit and washed and cleaned, and ready to go. Diapers and wipes in various sizes are bought. The co sleeper has fresh linens and is in position next to our bed. Ummmm.......what else, other than packing the bag for the hospital, and getting it in my head that the c-sect. will go fine, I just need to be brave and not be a needle wuss! Our last appt. is on Mon the 16th where we will get all the final details before we have to be the hospital the next morning around 6 am. yuck! I was hoping I could just wake up from my bed, go the hospital, check in, and then they would put me right back to sleep. That's how it should work if you ask me! But the Doc says that the surgery won't actually start till about 7....say a little prayer for me that I don't have a melt down in that hour. For those of you who know me, you know how I absolutely "love" hospitals and everything that goes along with them. So wear some green on Tues. and send some of the four leaf clover, good luck vibe our way. Here we go...

My Hubby's Newest Creation

Co-sleepers!! I found these on the internet before I put together my baby registries but couldn't find enough info or consumer reviews to feel safe putting one on my registry for the kinda $$ they are. The one's I was looking at on the web were by Arm's Reach and are built like the regular play yards by Graco and other brands. They are portable like the other ones too, the cool thing about them is that they hook right up to your bed so the baby is right there. In bed but not in bed. You don't have to get out of bed to get the baby. I'm thinking awesome for after my c-sect!, especially since I'm vertically challenged and my bed isn't. just a little ouchy! Anyway....there is a new baby store in Twin next to Hancock Fabric, behind Costco called 9 Months Later, (Totally Cute, anyone in the area should go take a peek at it.) and they had one in there. The gal working that day said her daughter has one and absolutely loves it. She let me bring home a brochure and we saw that they also make wood ones. Soo, my handy man hubby says "I'll just make one!" You know like it's a piece of cake, not for me anyway-I wouldn't know where to even start. Well, by the end of the week I had a surprise in our bedroom.

He is just so talented!! Isn't it beautiful! We have the bed slid right up next to it so there are now gaps and I will be able to reach the baby. My Hubby is totally amazing, I just love him to death! He said that this is his favorite thing he's built. I told him it's the reason why he built it.

I LOVE YOU JONPOO!!!

Valentine's Party 2

I forgot to put the pictures of her Valentine's Box that she took to school. It was her homework for the week before and she wanted to make a Ladybug box. She painted the body black, and helped cut the hearts out on my Cricut, then I helped her stick everything together. I love it and so does she. It's still sitting on the counter and I'm trying to come up with a way to keep it around b/c she doesn't want to throw it away-either do I for that matter-but it has to be out of the way. Any suggestions?

Valentine's Party

Recently I have found these absolutely fun blogs for ideas on how to do girl's hair. I have seen that a few other blogs I watch go to them too. They are awesome! They have kinda re-inspired me to do Nanna's hair instead of just put a clippie in it to keep her hair out of her face. She was looking at them with me one day and wanted to do a heart design do in her hair for her Valentine's Party at Kinder. She doesn't have near as much hair as some of the little girls on the Hair blogs, so we kinda adapted a couple of them, but I think it turned out cute. She was so excited and that's what matters. I also learned how to do a "messy bun" from one of them. You would think a messy bun would be easy to do, but I have never been able to figure it out. Now it is one our faves. We have to add an extra hair piece to hers though to make it look like anything but it's still quick and easy. So the top of her hair is a heart twist and the back is pulled to a messy bun.

please ignore the goofy smile :)

I'll stick the links to the hair blogs in my sidebar fave places to visit. I think the how to video of the messy bun is on the Piggies 'n' Ponies blog.
Have fun if you have a little girl with hair. It's amazing some of the stuff these mom's have come up with. Wow!

I'm Scheduled

So I'm having to break all of my rules, and schedule the c-sect. After talking about it with Jon we have decided that we just don't want to have to meet a new doc right now, so that leaves us with our only other option-scheduling. At my last visit on Thurs. last week I told Dr. Dowdle and he said that he would put me on the book for Tues. March 17--St. Patrick's Day! I don't know the time for sure yet but from what I've heard it will be way early in the morning, like 5:30 or 7:30 so I don't have to go long without eating. As for going into labor on my own before he would go out of town, well that's pretty much history too. He said I was "a whole lot of no where" in that dept., not effaced or dilated at all. ( I was hoping he would have some news to report b/c I have had a lot of braxton hicks contractions.) He does make an educated guess that she is just under 5lbs. right now though. I thought that was cool. This whole process is weird to me, even though I had one with Savannah; going in as an emergency and already having been in labor for sooo long I didn't really know what was going on around me. Now I have plenty of time to think about it. Argh, I just need to turn my brain off. haha, easier said than done for me. The bright side to the new due date is that it will be Spring Break here so my mom will be out of school, so she can watch Savannah since she will be out too, and be more help than if she was in session. That's going to be a bonus, and my sweet sister informed me that she would be here too, then my brother and his wife are going to come down that weekend to help too. Love my family!!!

When Jon realized what day that Tues. is he got on this kick (luckily he got off it real quick) that the baby was going to need another middle name---Pat, Patty, Patricia, etc... You know, to celebrate the day. I put my foot right down on that one. His response was that he was the one blessing the baby and once she was blessed I couldn't do anything about it. If you know Jon's family, you know what I'm talking about. (He's had a few siblings get their name changed spur of the moment while they were being blessed by Dad. Inspired change, of course. ) Jon's on a name kick, I'm just hoping she doesn't come out green :) heehee!

Well, that's the update for now. Toodles

Baby Registries

So I've been getting asked lately what we need for the baby. There are a few things that we could use but you know how you can never think of them when you're asked, or at least I can't right now anyway. I decided to create some baby registries to make it easier for me to answer that question. I picked a few different stores since we Burley-ites are limited with our shopping and we have family and friends in other cities. I hope I didn't jinx myself but I pretty much created the same list at each store, give or take a few things, because I didn't know who would have access to what. All three stores that I registered at offer online purchasing or instore purchasing, however, some items are available only online. I just want to say Thank You in advance to any of you sweet sweet people who choose to get a gift. Thank You for your generosity. We Love You!

We are registered at:
Babies'R'Us http://www.babiesrus.com/
Target http://www.target.com/
Burlington Coat Factory http://www.burlingtoncoatfactory.com/

Online access and probably instore at the kiosks- just click on either gift or baby registry and you can search with my name.

Thanks again!!!!

Mini Cheer Camp

Last weekend on Sat., then on Thurs. this week was the BHS Mini Cheer Camp. They do it in the fall and again in the spring and since Savannah missed the one in the fall during football because we had to go to Utah to pick up her daddy from the airport, she totally was begging to do this one. We signed her up and found out that her little friend Avalan was doing it too, so they got to go together. Now me having been a cheerleader in Jr. High and High school, I was totally excited that she wanted to do this. I guess it has kinda always been a dream or fantasy or hope, call it what you want, that my little girls would want to be cheerleaders. I loved those memories from HS. They were some of the best times I had. It was also one of the hardest decisions I had to make at the time to quit cheering and do drill team to save my voice so I could have a voice to sing with the rest of my life. I loved dancing too with the drill team, so that continued the fun memories and is part of the dream for my girls. Anyway.....Sat. was the day that the kids got to learn the routines. They had to be at the HS @ 8:30 am and were there till noon. Savannah came home and said she had soo much fun. The perfomance was on Thurs. of this week during the girls varsity halftime. There was a ton of kids, not just girls-there were a few boys too. We had to have her at the HS by 6:30 but the game didn't start till 7:30, not sure why they had to be there so early-poor cheerleaders had to babysit all those kids that much longer. Savannah looked so cute in her mini cheer shirt, a green and white hairbow in her hair, a green paw print sticker on her cheek and her green and white poms. We dropped the girls off with the rest of the cheer campers and went to sit on the other side of the gym that would face for the halftime. I had brought the video camera and was using it to zoom to see if I could see what they were doing. I couldn't find her until a big cheerleader picked her up and started rubbing her back like she needed soothing. I thought something must be wrong from the look of things so I went over to investigate. When I got there I could see that she had been crying and was really upset, I thought maybe it was the band because they were right in front of the kids and super loud. Oddly enough, with her Ostler blood, she is often times upset by really loud noises. Come to find out I was wrong; it had been the Bobcat mascot that had scared her. He came over to visit the kids and say Hi, but it must have totally scared her because she was totally bawling. Red in the face, sobbing and everything. She said it was his mask/face that was scary. So I took her back to sit with me on the other side and we were going to watch for them to leave to get ready to go out on the floor then we would rejoin them. It took some persuasion to get her to go back, she kept saying she just wanted to go because of the Bobcat. She just kept watching for the Bobcat and anytime he would even come near she would squish into me and try to hide. Even after convincing that it was just a kid inside and it was only a costume she still was nervous. But with a little DQ bribery, we were able to get her to go back with the cheerleaders and come out to the floor and perform. My mom tried to record it on the video camera but she was behind too many kids to be seen. I only got a couple of still shots on my camera too, she was hard to see. It was cute though and she said she had fun, but she didn't want to do it again because of the Bobcat. We'll see next year how she feels. I'm proud of her though, she was scared and conquered a fear to do it anyway. I love you Nanna!

These first two pics are before the Bobcat came to say Hi.

Nanna and Av waiting to perform

Still waiting to perform

It's hard to see her, but she is the one in the black pants with her shirt tied to the side. She looked soo cute!

My New Calling

A few weeks ago I received a new calling in our ward. I am the new Primary Chorister. My first Sun. was yesterday, and I think it went pretty well. We also have a new pianist, so we are both learning together. I have to say that I was REALLY shocked when the Bishop asked me. We had gone in for tithing settlement and he mentioned that they were talking about extending one to me. He started to tell us about what they were thinking, then he just changed his mind and asked if I would do it. I think the color drained immediately from my face. My first thought was, "ummm, hello, prego and due in March!" He must have read my mind because he went on to say that my name for this calling has been a hot topic of conversation for 2 weeks prior to our conversation. But, he did say that he has never experienced a name come to him so clear for a calling as mine had for this one, despite the circumstances. That was comforting to know, but I still had to go home and pray about and it took me two weeks to get back to the poor guy. He finally called me to see what my answer was and the best I could give him was a partial Yes with a condition. I know that sounds bad because we are taught to just accept a calling and trust in the Lord to guide us through, but I seriously struggled with this one. I told him I could do it for now, but in March we would have to re-evaluate. Whether that means release me and maybe a new name would have come up by then, or find me a co-chorister, or long term sub; I don't know, but my brain stops in March and I'll be unavailable for at least 4-6 weeks since I will be having a C-sect. Anyway, I have a bunch of stuff that I brought home from the music shelf in the closet at church to see what I have to work with and it looks like there is some fun stuff. I do know that the Lord gives us opportunities to learn and grow even when we may question the timing of it all. So I will give it a go and see what happens. I do think it will be fun, and the Bishop did tell me to just keep it simple and not get stressed out about it, so I'm going to operate with that mode of thinking. The kids will be fun and I could probably use the challenge right now. Wish me luck.

Photoshoot

I'm just getting around to doing this, but back on Oct. 13 I went with my cousin to take her Senior Pictures. In my last photo class we went to this guy's house that has all sorts of cool old wood buildings out back. Plus after the snow storm we got some pretty shots (in my opinion) with the snow. It was freezing cold and by the end of the shoot her nose was turning red. We also were a little late getting out to the site so we missed getting all of the pictures done with good lighting. I had to quite a bit of light editing to the last ones. Although, one of my faves of the whole shoot was included in those last shots. I was lucky that she is very photogenic and easy to photograph. OH, and I want to thank my girlfriend Laine for coming with me to help. Here you go:
