I had a visit with the baby doctor today and I just wanted to update everyone on the due date. As I mentioned in my last post about the fun ultrasound I had a couple of weeks ago, Kent said that according to the ultrasound my due date is March 23. He also said that he didn't think that Dr. Dowdle would change it because it wasn't more than 2 weeks different. Today, however, at my visit, Dr. Dowdle did choose to change the date to the 23rd. He said that because I didn't see him until just last month (according to him we got started late) he wasn't entirely sure of the original due date so he choose to change it according to the ultrasound. I am in total agreement because I think she will probably be more around the 23rd instead of the 16th if she follows anything like her big sister did. So....after all the blablabla.....my due date for this baby has been adjusted to March 23. I fixed the floating baby so it has the right info too. But everything else is looking great. We are a happy healthy baby making machine. ps. still working on getting pics of the ultrasound scanned.

Coming Soon...
On Tues of last week I had my first ultrasound for this pregnancy. I've been meaning to get this post done sooner but I was waiting to get the pics of the ultrasound scanned on my mom's computer so I could include them in my post, but I still don't have that done and if I don't get this post up it will never make it. So no ultrasound pics, but we still have fun news.
This ultrasound was totally different from the one that I had done with Nanna. 1st: the one with Nanna was a Fetal Fotos type ultrasound where you are just finding out the sex of the baby. So with this ultrasound being a full diagnostic one, it was a really cool experience. 2nd: this baby was totally playing with Kent (Kent Harper was the ultrasonographer-my friend's dad), whereas Nanna was hiding from the gal that did hers.
Kent was so fun to talk to. He was telling me all sorts of stuff about the baby, and he has had extra training to be able to do a full heart exam on the baby. He said that people with his kind of training are not very common, (especially for our small area), even the big hospitals usually have to have patients sent out to have a full heart exam done and just that can cost $1000. So our OB's are very lucky because Kent includes a full heart exam in all of his OB exams as standard procedure. Most OB ultrasounds get just a 4 chamber view, the full heart exam has 12 different views. I had to roll on my side to get the last two even. I feel very privileged to have had Kent's experience and knowledge shared with me and to know that our baby has a beautiful heart. The other fun thing that I was totally amazed by is how much you could actually see and how he could measure all of the different little-I mean TINY-body parts of the baby. He measured bones, the head, the belly, kidneys; he checked where the umbilical cord was inserted to make sure that was good with no problems. I just laid there in total awe the whole hour. It went by too fast. But the best part was when he put it in 3D mode and we could see actual features of the baby. He even said for only being 20 weeks she already has beautifully strong features. In the 3D shots you can see lips, nose, eyes, mouth, chin, chest and ribs, arm and fist, and the umbilical cord. She is beautiful already! It was soooo cool. I will definitely be requesting him for ALL of my ultrasounds. Then, just in case you missed it earlier when I slipped, the best best part came when he asked if I wanted to know what the baby was. I said yes, so he closed in on the "parts" and said, "It's a Girl, all I see are butterflies, no turtles." I totally laughed. I was so excited that we are having another little girl but I thought it was hilarious how he put it. It must have been totally obvious because during my ultrasound another Rad Tech came in to ask Kent a question and with only a glance at the screen he said congrats on the wee one and it being a girl. I didn't catch what he said at first, it took a sec. for it to hit. So I asked Kent to double check at the end and that's when he said the butterflies and turtles comment.
We are so blessed to be having another sweet little spirit come to our family. Savannah is such a joy in our lives, even through the rough, grumpy times, that I can't wait to see what dynamic this little girl will bring to our table. We are all so excited, Nanna can't wait and poor Jon is going to be out numbered by girls even more now. I will put a couple of pics of the ultrasound on my blog when I eventually get them scanned on the my computer.

Halloween
Savannah wanted to be Tinkerbell for Halloween. Well that was after some gentle persuading. Her Dad suggested that she be a hot dog just to be funny, but she took him seriously and for about a week had decided on that. I finally was able to talk her out of it by telling her that it would be all itchy and stiff because dad was just going to make it from Styrofoam at the shop then spray paint it the appropriate colors. So I got her talked into her other choice of Tink. I was rather proud of myself because I made her costume this year. It was a first. I'm not industrious or crafty in that area. A friend of mine had sent me a link to a site on how to make these absolutely cute tulle skirts, so that was how the skirt came about. I bought a pink leotard at Walmart and some green RIT dye and dyed it green. That was a first experience for me too. I got totally lucky and everything turned out right on the first try. YEAH! I did buy the wings at Walmart though, yeah no clue how to do those. The only pictures I got were these from the costume parade that morning and now I'm bummed that that's all I got because they didn't turn out very well.
We had a fun day though, even though we missed Daddy because he was on his was to Hawaii. She had a fun party at school, then we went to my mom's ward Trunk or Treat. That's where the fun ended. We were walking around getting the candy from everyone when we came to a car with a guy totally decked out the Zombie garb. She was hesitant to even go to that car and was kind of hiding in my coat as we walked up. The guy didn't mean to scare her, he was just trying to share his candy but he came up behind her and caught her by surprise and totally freaked her out. She screamed bloody murder and immediately burst into tears, absolutely bawling. She said she was done and wanted to go home, so we grabbed Grandma and headed out. But I think we may have found a new Halloween tradition as a result....we ended going home and eating dinner then we went to the movie. Savannah in her costume and everything we went and saw Beverly Hills Chihuahua. It was actually cute and a good way to end the evening. We might have to try it again next year.

Savannah's 1st Snowman
This post is a little late in coming, it actually goes with the one about the snow we got in Oct. Savannah was dieing to make a snowman the day that it snowed but it was too too cold and I didn't have my snow clothes, and I heard that the snow wouldn't even stick together from a couple of friends who did try. I told her she could try one by herself while she was out playing (she was totally unaffected by the cold, me on the other hand....yea you can guess-I'm a woose) but she said she didn't know how. That was a true statement though because she has never built one before. So later in the week as the snow was melting she wanted to go out and play in it again. She again asked me to come help her make a snowman and this time I said I would as soon as I finished up a project I was right in the middle of. Next thing I know as I'm looking out the window watching her, here she comes crawling along on her knees rolling a ball of snow. Now I thought to myself, "when did she learn how to do that, maybe at school, I don't know?" So I hurried and finished what I was doing, got bundled up, grabbed my camera and headed out to help her. She had all three balls rolled when I got out there she just needed help stacking them. So we stacked, then she picked out the rocks for the mouth and eyes, and some bark chips for the nose and ears. I got some twigs for the arms and helped her shove them into the snow. She was just giggling the whole time having a blast. She named him "her Brother". I asked her if we could take a picture of them together and she loved the idea so she could show her Daddy, who was out of town, and her Grammy Jan. We got some normal ones at the first then she decided that she needed to pose with "her brother", that's why there are so many pictures in the slideshow. But all in all it ended up being a great evening and she had a blast building her very first snowman. I love that she even did most of it herself, because I am usually so OCD that I "help" her do everything so it's "done right". This was a good experience for her to do it on her own. Good Job Nanna, I love you!
