Thanksgiving 2008

This is kinda long....sorry

What a wonderful year it has been. So much to be thankful for. A new home, a new baby on the way with a great pregnancy to boot, Savannah getting so big and starting kindergarten, my perfect husband in such a trying time when so many people are getting divorced, Jon's wonderful job working for Silcocks, being blessed with the things we stand in need of, our trials and tribulations that teach us and help us to grow, our Families who love and support us, most importantly, our Father in Heaven who knows us and loves us each. We are truly blessed.

This year we went down to Utah on Wed. and got to play around with the fam down there. Thurs. was a great day full of food, fun, laughter, and family. At one point during the day, we were all there except our brother Paul and his family who live in Texas.(totally missed you guys) Emily and her girls were there, her husband Kelly wasn't able to come b/c 0f work, but it was soo good to see them. Savannah had a blast playing with her cousins, Kyrie and Brielle. Emily is also prego so it was fun to compare our bellies. Unfortunately mine is bigger than hers and she is about 4 or 5 weeks ahead of me. Jon says it's b/c she is taller and has more room than I do. What a nice hubby :) I'm also totally jealous b/c she can still wear regular pants, just a size bigger than normal. I've been in maternity pants for a few weeks now and I can't keep them up for anything. I sometimes feel like I'm one of those skater boys who wear there pants down past their hips and have to walk with a wide step just to keep them up. Either that or I'm tugging at them every couple of steps. oh well, I can't complain b/c I really do love being prego. Anyway, off my tangent and back to the holiday...hmm what else....oh, the food. There was a ton of it and I ate way too much of it. I think probably my favorite dish was Jacob's rainbow jello. I kept going back for more, I swear he secretly put skittles in it b/c that's what it tasted like! YUMMO! Fri. Jon and I went and did a little bit of shopping in the afternoon when we thought that maybe the chaos would have died down, but we were wrong. I'm sure it wasn't as bad as the early morning sales but there were still more people that I thought there would be. I missed out on some of the cutest flannel at Joanns b/c we didn't have time to wait in the cutting line let alone the check out line. kinda bummed about that one. We did get a closer to being done though, so that's nice. Sat. morning we came home to Burley and had our 2nd dinner at my parent's house. My sister and her hubby were in town visiting his family too, and my mom loves turkey left overs so we threw together another dinner. My family had gone to Boise to eat dinner with my brothers in laws so when they came home on Fri. mom popped in a turkey for sat. Silly girl. It was fun to eat dinner with them too though. It's so nice to just sit around and hang out and visit with family.

My sister, Savannah, Mom and I also got all of Mom's Christmas decorations out and put up on Sun. before my sis had to leave back to Boise. I love my mom's house decorated for Christmas, and my sis and Savannah did a great job with the tree. Beautiful. We got ours up and the house decorated on Mon. for family home evening and Savannah was such a big help. She couldn't wait to get stuff out of the boxes. I had to keep telling her to just slow and and wait a minute. She did put the tree up all by herself though, I'm not quite sure how she got the top portion of the tree on but Jon said she did. I was in the other room when she did so I missed it.

So all in all it was a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! Hope all of you are doing well and blessed with the things that you need this season. I love this time of year. Thanksgiving to remind us of what we have to be thankful for and then into Christmas to celebrate the birth of Christ, the greatest gift of all. Happy Holidays!
