So, I've been meaning to do this all week to let everyone know what is going on with our little family.
As most of you know we were going to move to Utah this month..........well........this will be a bit of good news for some and bad news for some. We have chosen to stay in Idaho. While we were in Utah for a week babysitting Jon's three youngest siblings we were given a witness of the Power of the Lord. Sometimes only He knows the whole story and we just have to wait till we get to the next chapter to find out what happens next. We both know that we were suppose put forth the effort and take the steps needed to move to Utah. There were lessons in that process that we needed to learn as a family and as individuals. Like why would He tell us to go to Utah and then tell us to stay in Idaho? Yet another chapter for us to take on....
We sat down at the first of the week after balancing the checkbook and finding it empty, not knowing where the money had gone,we handed it off to the hand of the Lord. It sparked a conversation that had been needing to happen. We discussed all of the pros of moving to Utah and the pros to staying in Idaho, and the cons for both also. Working with Jon's brother doing what both of them consider their dream job was going well. However, it was everthing else entailed with moving to Utah that posed the problem. Inflated housing, higher cost of living, the gas bill for Jon's commute to work, the price the of house we had intended to buy, traffic, the quality of our health from the Utah atmosphere, the list goes on.... These were some of the things that we considered and talked about for both possible living destinations. We came to the realization that in Utah it just wouldn't work. The budget would just be too tight and cause too much tension. On the other hand, all of those considerations aimed in the direction of staying in Idaho just felt soo much better, right, peaceful, what ever you want to call it. Plain and simple. We were able to go to the temple the last saturday that we were there and it was amazing. Again, only the Lord knows the plan. We spent an hour in the Celestial room talking and praying about what to do. To me the amazing part is that after an hour of being wrapped in the His arms and feeling the warmth of His love, we both walked of the temple feeling at peace about the same answer-stay in Idaho.
So that is where we are. We have sold the house and are looking for a new one, Jon is going back to work for Silcocks, I have an extremely happy clientele that I don't have to leave behind now, we are currently living with my parents again and have 90% of our stuff in storage, and are trying to resume our lives as before. Thank you Heavenly Father for teaching us humility in following Him. It may sounded kind of "flakish" that we didn't have that conversation before we decided to move to Utah in the first place, but that is Him again. He knew that we probably just needed to be in Utah, back in the caos and the rat race of it all to remind us how much we don't like Utah and love Idaho. We are definitely blessed to be here in Idaho, wait...let me rephrase that....We are definitely blessed to HOME, here in Idaho and have so much to be grateful for; and have been humbly reminded to not take what we have for granted.
Sorry to those friends and family in Utah that were excited to have us closer. Like I said earlier, we are trying to resume our lives as they were; that includes coming to visit just as much. Love you all

4 notes of love:
I am so glad that you have finally come to a decision and are at peace with it. That is the most important thing. If you are at peace you are probley on the right track and therefore on His path for you! Stay on this path- he knows the way much better than what we could ever come up with. We love you!
Doesn't the Lord always make life interesting? Just when you thought you had it all under control, he throws you for a loop. But don't worry, he'll take care of you...at least youre not moving to the other side of the country.
You still better come to visit! At least now that I have your blog it doesn't matter where you live! I am so excited for you and the constant adventure of life!
Savannah said something about you moving to Utah a few weeks ago when I was picking Jaylee up from daycare- Charlene didn't know anything about it then and we attributed it to 4 yr old info that isn't always very accurate-
Glad to hear you are staying! Isn't being an adult so much fun- lots of tough decisions in life- we've been there done that on close to the same issue more than once!
