Decorating Suncatchers

Sometime ago, either my mom or my aunt, gave Savannah this really fun Make Your Own Suncatchers Kit from Build a Bear. It has been living up on the shelf in her closet for a while, well since we got it, but having to pack everything up when we sold the house caused me to rethink what to do with the kit. So.......we took it to mom's with us. I knew we would probably have a lot of freetime, so it might be a good project to do together. We were picking up her room at Grandma's, where we are staying, and she said she wanted to see what was in the box. We headed downstairs to the kitchen, found some butcher paper to cover the counter with, got everything out of the box and got started. The kit is for 5+, but I thought Savannah would be able to do it cuz she is pretty darn smart and can do a lot of stuff that's older than her age. *as a side note, she loves to play on starfall.com and has started reading and sounding out 3 letter, single syllable words!!! I'm amazed by her everyday!* Anyway, I thought she would be able to do more of the actual painting of the suncatchers but it was a little more complex than I thought. Not that painting within the lines is hard-it's not-what was tricky was keeping the runny paint within the black lines and making sure it was a smooth coverage over the whole thing. Needless to say I ended up doing most of them, so for her to help I had her pick the colors and where they went on each piece. In the end we had fun and spent some quality time together being creative, so I wanted to take some pics to remember the moment. Hope you enjoy.

hey brooke - yes, i love slide.com, it's super easy & very quick. there are a lot of easy ways to customize, too.
i'm not sure what one you have on your site right now, since it wouldn't pull up for me, but another that a lot of friends use is onetruemedia.com.

we are working on doing it the end of the week. if we do something at night it will most likely be friday - saturday day event. (not positive about this stuff - just guessing) but I know the rodeo thing was a big deal to people so it will be thought of. thanks for talking to people. i never see anyone and i work 50 hours a week so i seem to have a hard time locating people.

Looks like a blast! Banna does remind me of Sierra at that age. They are both definantly Ostler's. Uber Cute! :)
