Well this evening we lost a dear, sweet friend. Maggie was called back home to be with our Heavenly Father tonight. We were all outside enjoying the beautiful evening when the tragedy happened. Grandpa was just coming home and as usual he drove up the drive and the dogs were excited to see him, running out to greet him as they always do. Gidget stayed on the grass, but Maggie ran farther. Being more agile and quick we don't usually worry about Maggie around the tires, she's always moved fast enough to get out of the way; so Grandpa was watching for Gidget and seeing her sitting on the grass, he continued to turn his truck around. Maggie, this time, wasn't fast enough to get away from Grandpa's back tire and was run over, breaking her back. She died quickly on her own; fortunately we didn't have to use a gun. Grandma saw immediately what had happened and her Maggie's crying and quickly took Nanna in the house. Jon and I went to Maggie and comforted her till she passed. Grandpa came over and said he was soo sorry, he didn't see her, but thought she was out of the way. Grandpa is the one having the hardest time with this, he is feeling really blue. We explained to Nanna that Maggie gets to go to Heaven now and live with Heavenly Father and Jesus and Poppy (my Grandpa). Little kids are amazing, they are still so close the spirits of Heaven, she understood what we told her and so far seems to be okay. She wrote a card for Maggie that we put out by her little gravestone in where we buried her in my Grandma's wild-flower garden/ pet cemetery. She sang her a little song too. It was so sweet. Gidget, Maggie's constant side kick, is hopefully doing well. Since I don't speak "dog" I haven't been able to ask her, but we are sure giving her extra love. Jon and I are doing fine. Time will tell and the reality of her absence sinks in. So we want to say Thank You to our Heavenly Father for letting us have Maggie as our friend and companion for the last 7 years. We love her and we will miss her spunky, little circus dog attitude. Here are a couple pics of our sweet Maggie playing with Nanna when she was younger. I tried to find one of just Maggie or even one that showed her cute face, but no luck, even w/ all the pics I have.

GOODBYE MAGGIE, TILL WE MEET AGAIN. WE LOVE YOU!!
6 notes of love:
We are so sad for you. I have a hard time when we say goodbye to one of our gerbils, so I can imagine how sad it has been for you. We love you.
I am sorry to hear about Maggie. I truly think that "All Dogs Go To Heaven!" Our pets become a part of our families! I am sure that you will see Maggie again! We love you! See you in August!
It's hard to lose a best friend, and part of the family, we hope that you are doing well...
We are so sad, even though she was your little dog and we weren't attached. It was so hard for us to loose Alma even though he was so old. I think the unexpected is harder. You have a great attitude by thanking God for the time you had with her.
We lost two of our dogs this spring- it's amazing how attached to them you become and how hard it is to lose them. Sometimes I still expect our Sammy to come and greet me when I get home.
Sorry to hear about your loss
Every time I think of my Pippin leaving I cry a little. You are so brave.
